Elfers, Florida (Top40 Charts/ emPower
Music & Arts) - Throughout the month of November, thousands of fans and artists are promoting Posi
Music Month with emPower
Music & Arts and related organizations such as The Positive
Music Association. Posi Music, pronounced pah-zee, isn't anything new. The sound has been around since the 1970's. Only recently has the uplifting and inspiring music been labeled and promoted in a group effort to foster the genre.
Posi Music is a diverse genre with many different sounds, making it appealing to a wide audience. "I think Posi Music is music that unites people and lifts them up," explains Sue K Riley, Vice President of emPower Music & Arts. It is defined not by a particular sound, but instead, by intent through the underlying themes of love, harmony and peace.
"It means I have a category! Great God Almighty, I have a category!" says Greg Tamblyn, award-winning Posi Music artist. "I think it's an attempt to find a place, a label, for music of higher consciousness, which is important. The more I evolve, the less I can listen to songs that celebrate victimhood. This doesn't mean sad songs, necessarily, just the ones where people ask for pain. I think it's helpful to recognize music that inspires, whatever groove it's in. We need to recognize the 'better angels of our nature.'"
Supporters of Posi Music are urged to "fast" from negative music for the entire month of November and instead listen to only music that is wholesome, uplifting and good for the spirit.
