New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Jaybird Communications) - The Miami Music Festival and Conference (MMF), Miami's second annual emerging musical artist showcase, and the centerpiece event of this November's new 'Miami Live Music Month,' announced today that the Spin Doctors will headline a free festival kick-off concert at Bayfront Park's Tina Hills Pavilion on Friday, November 12, 2010. The show is sponsored by The Miami Downtown Development Authority.

Waka Flocka Flame To Appear and Perform; Proyecto Uno added; Festival To Close With Special Appearance By Mario

The show's opening acts will be Tulsa, OK-based Stars Go Dim along with the winner of the MMF's Adopt-A-Band Facebook competition, to be announced at the MMF press reception on Wednesday, November 10th at 6:30 PM the 30th floor of the Sabadell United Bank building at 1111 Brickell Avenue in downtown Miami. The reception, with special performances by Nicole Chirino, Anthony Hall and Shenita Hunt will feature a welcome message by Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, introduced by the star of MMF's 'Adopt A Band' TV commercial and MMF performer Steven Bauer (Scarface, Que Pasa USA?). Stars Go Dim have opened for Switchfoot and Daughtry and shared the stage with Paramore and All-American Rejects. The Spin Doctors' after-party will take place at Charcoal Studio in Wynwood, where guitarist Eric Schenkman will debut a new act, Corky Laing and the Memory Thieves. Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens will also perform Friday night at the Charcoal Studio show. Charcoal Studio will be the venue for MMF's Saturday night show featuring Devon Allman's Honeytribe as well. Allman is the son of Allman Brothers singer and keyboardist Gregg Allman.

Also announced today, Waka Flocka Flame will appear at the annual Urban Network Awards reception at The Miami Music Festival on Saturday, November 13th at Club Play on Miami Beach. Red Carpet is at 5:30PM. Waka Flocka will perform on MMF's Urban Network stage in the Bayfront Park Amphitheater on Sunday, November 14th. Show hours are noon to 6PM.

Along with performances by noted acts 2AM Club, Jared Evan, The Vivian Girls, and Vaughn Anthony, the festival has announced the addition of the award-winning Dominican-American Merenrap group Proyecto Uno ('El Tiburon') to the Saturday, November 13th line-up in the Bayfront Park Amphitheater. That show includes a performance by The Celia Cruz All-Stars featuring Tito Puente, Jr. A highly anticipated performance by Gospel and R&B singer Be Be Winans will take place at the MMF show in the Hyatt Regency Miami hotel in downtown Miami on Friday night, November 12th. Doors open at 8:00PM.

R&B singer Mario will close the Miami Music Festival with a special appearance in the Bayfront Park Amphitheater on Sunday, November 14th. The Billboard Award winner is getting ready to release his fifth album during the first quarter of 2011.
