Los Angleles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Daniel Fingerhut of ECH Productions) - Indian music enthusiasts will have access to one of the world's greats as Maestro Aloke Dasgupta will perform his sitar live Nov. 19 at the Peace Yoga Gallery in Los Angeles starting at 9PM. Dasgupta is a world-renowned and award-winning sitar player. After studying under the direction of one of India's greatest maestros, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Dasgupta embarked on his career playing sold out audiences at concerts around the world.

The key to Dasgupta's success and exploding popularity is his ability to combine his hypnotic eastern style of music with western pop culture rhythms and tempos. Celebrities and pop icons alike take pleasure in this combination, which is evident by his collaborations on musical works with such musicians as Mick Jagger and Gwen Stefani.

More often, he is continually chosen to perform for Cheap Trick's "Sgt. Pepper Live," a musical interpretation of The Beatles' classic 1967 album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," by legendary Beatles' sound engineer Geoff Emerick, who produces the show.

The modern day sitar has a history dating back to Middle Ages. A staple of Hindustani classical music, a sitar has 21 to 23 strings and as a plucked string reverberates its length changes slightly as its edge touches the instrument's bridge, creating overtones and giving the sitar sound its distinctive tone.

"A sitar is a bridge between East and West bringing harmony and a tranquil ambiance that is unforgettable," says Dasgupta commenting on why the sitar has become so popular.

Dasgupta's musical career also extends into the realm of Hollywood with features in a number of films, television shows and commercials such as Disney's "The Zach and Cody Show, Suite Life on Deck." Other musical appearances include ESPN's "Sideline," and recordings for the soundtrack of award-winning films such as "Outsource."

Wherever Dasgupta plays he captivates the hearts and minds of critics and audiences worldwide using his soft touch of the sitar to produce a subtle sweetness of notes during mystical sequences that leave audiences wanting more.

According to Dasgupta's Manager Daniel Fingerhut, tickets are expected to sell quickly.

Tickets for Nov. 19 concert at the Peace Yoga Gallery, at 903 Main St., can be purchased by visiting, https://www.peaceyogagallery.com or by calling 213-500-5007. For more information about Maestro Aloke Dasgupta please visit www.alokedasgupta.com .
