Michael Jackson loses spokesman

LOS ANGELES (Michael Jackson Fan Websites) - Michael Jackson's "worldwide spokesman" has quit. Stuart Backerman says he has stepped down due to "strategic differences" with other members of the star's team over the handling of the child molestation charges.

However, Jackson's lawyer Mark Geragos says Backerman was fired last week for speaking to the media during a get-together at Neverland. Backerman denies he was fired. He was employed by Jackson for one year.
Jackson broke his silence in an interview with CBS, in which he proclaimed his innocence. Today Backerman cited "strategic differences" with other members of Jackson's staff over how things were being handled as his reason for quitting his post.

In other MJ news, despite numerous reports The Nation of Islam has come out and denied it's involved in defending Michael Jackson. The group issued a statement saying it has no official business or professional relationship with Jackson, but they wish him well.
Jackson's lawyer also denies the Nation of Islam is working on Jackson's defence.
