New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ASCAP) ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) has announced the initial lineup of panelists and programming for the 6th annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO, taking place April 28-30, 2011 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to its signature "I Create Music" interviews, hitmaker panels and top-notch showcases, ASCAP will bring together a diverse group of music creators and industry professionals to participate in a broad range of panels designed to support music creators at every stage of their career.
Some of the panelists and programming includes:
* A series of writer and composer-focused Master Sessions with some of the most successful names in music, including songwriter/producer Antonina Armato, songwriter/producer and Senior VP of A&R for Warner Bros Mike Elizondo, composer/producer Marcus Miller, composer Eric Whitacre, and others.
* The Writers Jam - Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic), John Rzeznik (of Goo Goo Dolls), Chris Stapleton and others will share stories behind their work and perform them live in a fun, stripped-down, in-the-round setting.
* Hitmaker panels featuring successful songwriters, such as Josh Kear, Savan Kotecha, Kevin Rudolf and others, who will share their unique insights into what it takes to reach the top of the charts today.

* A Conversation Between Vernon Reid (of Living Colour) and Bernie Worrell (of Parliament/Funkadelic and Talking Heads) - Songwriter/guitarist Vernon Reid and the legendary keyboardist and composer Bernie Worrell will share their experiences creating music spanning several decades.
* Film Composing with Marco Beltrami and Wes Craven - As Scream 4 is set for release, the film series' composer and director will discuss their collaboration in revolutionizing the modern horror genre experience.
* A Conversation Between Van Dyke Parks and Rufus Wainwright - Representing different generations, composer, arranger, producer and musician Van Dyke Parks and singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright will discuss how they created some of the most provocative pop music of the modern era.
* Writing for Musical Theatre - Stephen Trask (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Peter Yanowitz (of The Wallflowers) will share lessons learned from their experience collaborating on two upcoming Broadway musicals.
* Murphy's Laws of Songwriting Meets FutureHit.DNA - Two noted songwriting experts and authors, Ralph Murphy and Jay Frank, will share their insights on how successful songs drive commerce to give you a competitive advantage in your own writing.
* Music Placement with Tracy McKnight, Head of Film Music at Lionsgate - One of the most experienced, talented and influential music supervisors in the industry will share how songwriters get their music placed in popular film, TV and advertising projects.
