Billy Corgan begins his solo album

NEW YORK (Billy Corgan Official Website) - Former Zwan and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has begun work on his solo album, according to postings by the singer on his official website.

Billboard quotes Corgan as writing, "I am excited to work on this music, because for the first time in my life it will be my tunes with no compromises to anyone or anything."

Corgan is also set to release a book of poetry in the coming weeks and in his postings asked for suggestions for a title.
Zwan broke up less than a year after the release of their acclaimed debut 'Mary, Star of the Sea'.
