The Funk Master Of The Drums Stevie Hawkins Releases New Album 'What The Funk'
Atlanta, Ga (Top40 Charts/ Atlanta Music Group / Emphasis Records) Emphasis Records announces the release of Stevie Hawkins "What the Funk?" album. The album containing 19 tracks spans the world of Funk music from the 60's to the present. The album, aptly titled "What The Funk?" explores the evolution of funk throughout the years. The album's style is a mix of several genres, such as Soul, Blues, Jazz, Latin and the many other influences that make Funk music what it is.

Stevie says "I was more concerned with instrumentation on this album than my previous two releases. Funk has influenced my entire musical career yet the musical genius' behind the genre have not seen the spotlight in just as many eras. I believe the audience is there, we just have to bring it to them in a way that the current music industry does not. There are just 12 notes in all of music, and what Funk does is take all of those influences and those 12 notes and fuses them into something that just gets you grooving".

The album was recorded over a two year period at various locations and studios and features some of the best in their genres: Soul Diva Jocelyn Brown, Sista Monica Parker, Tony Lindsay, D'Layna, Funk Dogg, Cooley, Jaroslav Jakubovic, The Blues Brothers Horns, The Memphis Horns, Joe Vitale, Thiago Pinheiro, Butch Taylor, Tyrone Chase, Anthony Vitti, Sal Giorgiani, Jennifer Cosaro, Ralph Rosen, Delicious Allstars, Sanj Sen, Chuck Webb and many more.
