New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ All Indianz Promotions) Sometimes in our quest to be cool we meet someone or stumble across something that makes us stop and realize the moment and how fortunate we are to be a part of something larger than ourselves. On our way to Rhyneland, we discovered one of the many wonders held within our own country, A Diamond in the Desert.
The "Diamond in the Desert" is in Laughlin, NV that's made a name for itself, yet undiscovered by so many. It is on the road less traveled by high rollers and party seekers heading into
Vegas on a quest all their own. Who would have ever dreamed a beach on the famous Colorado River with boating, jet skis and pina coladas complete with outdoor bands, and more? For those looking to roll the dice in a more private, relaxed atmosphere with a host of other amenities, this is the place to be.
The AVI Resort & Casino, Laughlin, NV, played host to award-nominated artist Ken Rhyne Saturday night,
September 10, 2011. Originally scheduled to perform at the Beach Overlook, under threat of storms, the show was moved inside to a major conference room with state of the art sound. All show guests were treated to a 5-Star buffet complete with desserts created on-site at the AVI Casino & Resort Bakery and two sets of Blistering Blues/Blues Rock by Ken Rhyne & The Ken Rhyne Band from 7pm - 11pm.
The sound engineer provided surround sound so perfectly every guest in the room felt they were right on stage with the band. Guests danced throughout the show to a variety of Ken Rhyne songs from "These Bills Come Due", "Can't Let This Good Thing Slip Away", "Van Miller's Whiskey Bar", Scratch My Back" to his forthcoming new single "Limousine". The room was filled to near capacity throughout both sets and guests were seen lining up between sets to purchase Ken Rhyne CD's, inquire about show dates and when he would be back in the area. It was definitely a memorable night.
"The AVI Casino show was special. We were treated so well and made to feel at home. The stage and monitor/PA systems was perfect which allows us as musicians to feel free to express our voices and instruments from our heart and soul without distractions. Kenny Mohs and his sound crew were the best I have worked with over my 33 years of performing live. I look forward to future opportunities to work with them again and to play for the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe and all the people of southern Nevada. I'm spoiled now, I want the sound I had there where ever I play now" - Ken Rhyne
