Robert Williamson's Solo Career Is Off To A Smashing Start, With His Debut Single
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / RW Music) An incredible thing happened to Robert Williamson (www.robertwilliamsonmusic.com) during his explosive emergence on the international dance club scene: the longtime frontman for the globally popular RWBand has become a bona fide pop star.

The multi-talented singer and performer's solo debut single "Trapped" is grooving on up in the UK, where it broke the Top 40 on Music Week's Commercial Pop Chart, rising in a single week from #39 to #15 and placing ahead of the latest releases by superstars like LMFAO and Beyonce.

The track, a dynamic contemporary twist on Colonel Abrams' 1985 #1 Billboard Hot Dance Club Play hit, also appears on close to 15 DJ dance compilation CDs that are also available for consumer download on numerous sites. Williamson is in good company on these collections, which also feature artists like Beyonce, Lady GaGa and Maroon 5.

The single and its various remixes are released on Dauman Music/Republic Digital/Universal. (www.daumanmusic.com)

Williamson's "Trapped" has shipped four re-mix versions to clubs and radio -- including ones by Super Stylers (JLS, Tinchy Stryder, Whitney Houston & Roll Deep), William Umana (Ultra Nate, Tony Moran, Dave Aude), Klubjumpers (Mariah Carey, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears) and Dave Matthias (Rihanna, Bodega Charlie, Natalia Flores).

Matthias, a renowned DJ artist, remixer, syndicated radio mixshow creator and Billboard Magazine Dance Chart reporter, says, "Robert Williamson does an incredible rendition with this classic from Colonel Abrams. It was such an honor working with him in bringing this timeless classic to the 21st Century!"

In addition to having written for, recorded with and produced numerous pop, R&B and Motown artists, Williamson has composed scores for films and commercials and is currently heard worldwide on VH1. He has traveled the world performing for many star-studded affairs, celebrity weddings and numerous high profile celebrity fundraisers, performing with artists such as The Temptations, Gary Puckett, Darius Rucker, The Eagles, Patti Labelle, Percy Sledge, The Spinners, Donna Summer, and Julio Iglesias Jr.

Williamson's track "Hollywood Hurts" will appear in an upcoming film entitled "Go West."
