Berkeley, CA (Top40 Charts/ Live Oak Studio) Mighty Men of Faith is the Bay Area gospel quartet known for artfully blending catchy modern rhythms with traditionally spiritual messages. Building upon the great success of their first album, the group is now hard at work recording tracks for two new albums at the reputably comfortable San Francisco recording studio, Live Oak Studio in Berkeley, California.
One album in production is a compilation of flavorful live recordings projected to be released in June. The other album is a follow-up to the Mighty Men of Faith's critically acclaimed debut album "Because He Loves Me," which should be released—God willing—by November of this year. This album will include at least nine original uplifting songs.
"The environment at Live Oak is very different than other recording studios," said Wendell Basey. "We had no idea such a great resource was right in our area, and as soon as we saw all the tremendous artists that had recorded there, like
Destiny's Child and Boyz II Men, we knew that we were in good hands."
The Mighty Men of Faith is Wendell Basey,
William (Pedie) Carswell, Reverend Ed Prothro-Harris, and Malvin Scott. They got their start after joining together to deliver what was supposed to be a one-time performance in spring of 2009 at the Annual Men's Day event held at the University AMEZ Church in Palo Alto, California. They were such a hit that they stayed together.
They released their debut album in 2010, which has been called "slammin', silky, soulful, and spirit-filled" by critics. They continue to perform all over the country, delivering messages of inspiration to packed houses.
Influenced by the likes of the Temptations, the Whispers, and the Canton Spirituals, the Mighty Men of Faith aim to please any musical palate with their blend of traditional and contemporary Christian music. Their exciting sound has caught the attention of thousands of devoted supporters, with well over 14,000 fans on social media alone. They also recently landed a nomination for the 2012 Urban Inspirational Awards in the Rhythm and Praise Group category.
Mighty Men of Faith's next performance will be held at the East Palo Alto Seventh-day Adventist Church on April 28.
