New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Warp Records)
This summer sees the debut collaborative release from Hudson Mohawke and Lunice, two of the hottest young producers out there right now. Their TNGHT project is coming out as a five track EP on vinyl and digitally July 24th via Warp Records/LuckyMe.
Those familiar with the genre-blending, ground-quaking beats of Glasgow's Hudson Mohawke and Montreal's Lunice will think they know what is in store from a collaboration between the two, but nothing could prepare for the future hip hop production featured onTNGHT.
The duo debuted their collab at this year's SXSW. With thousands of acts it is virtually impossible to stand out, especially for an act that has never released a track or played a show, but TNGHT packed out the venue, and the entire room shook from excitement (and bass!). Pitchfork reported that "the set was marked by minimal, bass-bleeding hip-hop beats that signaled a future for what Timbaland
started at the beginning of the century…Once big time hip-hop embraces these guys-- and it only seems like a matter of time at this point-- clear the decks. All bets are off."
