Flo Rida "Whistles" To The Top Of The Charts; "Whistle" Becomes Superstar MC's Third No 1 "Hot 100" Hit!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) IMG/Poe Boy/Atlantic recording artist Flo Rida once again dominates Billboard's "Hot 100" chart. The superstar MC's summer anthem, "Whistle," ranks #1 this week, knocking Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" out of the top spot. With nearly 4 million digital singles sold worldwide, the sultry smash has become Flo Rida's third #1 hit on the "Hot 100," following 2007's "Low," which remained atop the chart for 10 consecutive weeks, and 2009's "Right Round," which held the top spot for six consecutive weeks.

With "Whistle," Flo Rida ties Katy Perry for the most top five "Hot 100" hits this year. In addition, the track tops this week's SoundScan Digital Songs chart. "Whistle" marks Flo Rida's seventh consecutive RIAA platinum certified single.

"Whistle" has quickly become yet another global hit for Flo Rida, having already reached the top of the charts in, among others, Ireland, France, Canada, Japan, Austria, Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand. The single was recently featured on Entertainment Weekly's "Must List," which noted that the "acoustic-guitar-driven earworm... manages to turn a put-your-lips-together command and some simple strumming into a club-ready jam. Consider our whistles blown." In addition, the "Whistle" companion video -- directed by Mark Klasfeld (Jay-Z, fun.) -- is streaming now at Flo Rida's official YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/officialflo), where it has already drawn nearly 70 million individual views.

The single's success follows two of Flo Rida's biggest chart-topping hits to date. "Good Feeling" and "Wild Ones (Feat. Sia)," each with worldwide digital sales in excess of 5 million, have both earned 3x RIAA platinum certification.

"WILD ONES" is the Miami-based rapper's recently released fourth studio album. With its billion-dollar beats and uncanny melodic sensibility, "WILD ONES" marks Flo Rida's most envelope-pushing collection of high-energy club smashes to date. The album showcases the rapper's signature stop-and-go flow and clever lyricism, bringing his own uniquely soulful stamp to solidified hits like "Good Feeling," "Wild Ones (Feat. Sia)" and "Whistle," in addition to addictive new jams like "I Cry" and "Let It Roll." As ever, Flo Rida teamed with a host of top songwriters and producers, including Dr. Luke, GoonRock, Rico Love, DJ Frank E, Axwell, soFLY & Nius, and The Futuristics. The result is an astounding, genre-busting, party rockin' set that firmly establishes Flo Rida as both a master artist and a true international superstar.

In other news, Flo Rida will perform "Whistle" on VH1's Do Something Awards. Honoring the nation's best young world-changers, the awards air on Tuesday, August 21st at 9/8c. And just yesterday, Flo Rida shot the music video companion to his next single, "I Cry." Also directed by Marc Klasfeld, the video is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Flo Rida is without question one of today's most vibrant and recognizable superstars, a true international icon and history-making hip-hop hero. The Miami-based rapper burst onto the scene in 2007 with his record-breaking #1 hit, "Low (Feat. T-Pain)," which spent 10 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard "Hot 100." With worldwide sales exceeding 12 million, "Low" -- found on Flo Rida's acclaimed 2008 debut album, "MAIL ON SUNDAY" -- is one of the most successful digital singles of the past decade, making its way into the Guinness Book of World Records as 2008's best-selling download in the United States.

In 2009, Flo Rida broke his own record when "Right Round" made history with more than 636,000 digital sales in its first week of release -- still the biggest debut digital sales week for any single ever. The single proved equally successful around the globe, reaching #1 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to guest appearances on such tracks as David Guetta's "Where Them Girls At (Feat. Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj)," the iconic rapper has made non-stop worldwide noise with an array of his own international party anthems, including "In The Ayer (Feat. will.i.am)," "Club Can't Handle Me (Feat. David Guetta)," and "Sugar (Feat. Wynter Gordon)." All told, Flo Rida has sold nearly 65 million singles worldwide.
