Macy's Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Macy's Official Website) This fall, Macy's (NYSE:M) partners with Vanidades, the nation's first-ever, Spanish-language, women's lifestyle magazine, to celebrate Latino-Americans in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. With special events nationwide, Macy's is set to commemorate Hispanic American contributions to fashion, culture and music embodied by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend, entrepreneur, philanthropist and fashion designer, Carlos Santana.

"Macy's is delighted to honor influencer, style-maker and music legend Carlos Santana as our Icon of Style in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month," said Dineen Garcia, Macy's vice president of Diversity Strategies. "Latinos have had an immense impact not only on fashion, but music, food and every aspect of culture and we are proud to honor those contributions as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with great special events in stores across the country."

Carlos Santana commented, "I am so honored Macy's has chosen me as an Icon of Style for 2012. I believe that personal expression is the essence of the human spirit ...and for me that has always been through my music and my style. I am proud to be Latino and I think it comes through in everything I do; every song, every rhythm, the colors, prints and textures in my designs. Muchas gracias, Macy's!"

Macy's Hispanic Heritage Month events will take place at stores in nine markets including Houston; Dallas/Ft. Worth; San Diego; Atlanta; Chicago; New York City; Orange County, CA; Miami; and the San Francisco Bay area. Customers who join the celebration will have the opportunity to explore Carlos Santana's influence in music and fashion via a panel of local style-makers and industry experts who will discuss his impact on Latino culture. From Latin music and refreshments to fashion presentations, the events will also offer fans the opportunity to receive a limited-edition Carlos by Carlos Santana key chain with any purchase of $50 or more of Carlos by Carlos Santana shoes and accessories, while supplies last. Carlos Santana will make a special appearance at the Herald Square, New York City event on Oct. 11 to personally thank his supporters during a special meet-and-greet with fans.

Carlos Santana is world-renowned for his virtuoso guitar playing and Macy's and American Airlines have partnered to offer a lucky winner and a guest the opportunity to see him perform up close and personal. From Sept. 27 through Oct. 13, fans can enter in-store to win*, a trip for two to Las Vegas, courtesy of American Airlines, to see Carlos perform live. The winner will receive two VIP tickets to "An Intimate Evening with Santana" at the House of Blues, a complimentary night at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, as well as a $500 Macy's shopping spree.
