Emily Browne - Brownian Motion E.P.
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Vision Music Promotion) Out of the beating heart of England, Footworkz Records is proud to release "BROWNIAN MOTION" into the waters of contemporary music, in the full expectation of creating a ripple.

"BROWNIAN MOTION" is the three-track debut EP by Warwickshire-based singer-songwriter EMILY BROWNE.

Compelling, soulful and unmistakably English, Browne's vocal prowess is fully revealed across three strikingly original compositions. From the ironic jazz-tinged dynamics of "Stood Still" through the porcelain-fragile danse macabre of "She Crazy" to the exuberant funk of "Snap and Crackle" which somehow thrives without pop, this CD offers a bold, original and wholly feminine take on 21st century love and loss. And with Browne's live set already showcasing an album's worth of equally memorable material, "BROWNIAN MOTION" is only the take-off point for a talented young artist booked in for the long haul.

Born in England in 1985, Emily Browne's musical journey began as a school-age clarinettist and drummer, and it is only in recent years that she has found her true calling as an acoustic singer songwriter. Indeed, it was only in late 2009 that she stepped out into the gigging scene of her native Warwickshire as part of the guitar duo "Brownian Motion."
Since then, Browne has played well-received acoustic sets across the Midlands and made her London debut at the Troubadour, while expanding her musical range in the studio with keyboard and electric arrangements.

With an eclectic slate of influences including Gomez, Turin Brakes, John Martyn and Joan Armatrading, the pigeon holing of Emily Browne's music is an exercise fraught with the risk of misunderstanding. That said, her work can be placed into a broad acoustic category alongside such contemporary singers as Laura Marling and Anna Calvi, as well as her fellow Midlander Lucy Rose. Reference points might also be found in today's indie-folk scene spearheaded by Mumford and Sons, yet perhaps the most profitable comparison is with Armatrading, and it is surely no accident that Browne's next studio recording will be her interpretation of Armatrading's classic "Show Some Emotion" for release in early 2013.
