UMPG Songwriter Spotlight: Jeff Franzel
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ UMPG) UMPG songwriter and composer, Jeff Franzel, has been experiencing great international success. He recently celebrated two No. 1 singles in South Africa with "Lighthouse" and "Save Me" by Pop Idol artist Elvis Blue, who recently won the award for Best Adult Contemporary CD at the South African Music Awards. Jeff and Elvis also claimed the most performed radio song of the year in South Africa, with Jeff's smash hit "Lifeline." He is currently working on Elvis Blue's next two singles for his latest album, which he plans to release internationally. Another Pop Idol alum and 2012 finalist, Mark Haze, recently recorded Jeff's song "Wake Up Dreaming," which is set to be released this month, and the song titled "Strong," which Jeff co-wrote, was recently performed by the world-renowned Greek tenor, Mario Frangoulis.

Jeff's success continues in Asia, topping the chart yet again with the No. 1 single in Hong Kong, G.E.M.'s "Someday I'll Fly." Up next, two of Jeff's songs are set to be recorded by one of Hong Kong's top-selling artists, Jacky Cheung, for his upcoming album. One of the songs shares a co-writing credit with Lindy Robbins. Jeff has also been working with revered Turkish Muslim philosopher Fethullah Gülen and representing the U.S. by adapting one of his poems into a song. The song, "Dreams," which Jeff produced and co-wrote with Ryan Shaw, will be featured on the album, September 12th - The Day After. Up next, Misia, one of Japan's biggest selling artists, will be recording Jeff's Christmas song "I Found Love," which will be released for the holidays.

The artistic accomplishments of Jeff Franzel don't stop there, as he recently secured a debut in the Top 10 on iTunes with "Change," a single from artist Alex York, which Jeff co-wrote with Alex. Further credits and collaborations include his song "Save Me," which was recently recorded by The Osmonds for their album set to be released this September; and Kevin Ahart's upcoming album on which Jeff co-wrote five songs and arranged two covers for the Phil Ramone sessions. With new representation from Yamaha, a recent performance at the Snowbasin Jazz Festival with his jazz quintet, and a recorded DVD set for release, Jeff Franzel's success shows no sign of slowing down.
