Maryland Public Television To Honor Veterans With Live Musical Production Starring Tenor Anthony Kearns
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Anthony Kearns Official Website) On Sunday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m., The United States Air Force Band will once again proudly partner with Maryland Public Television to honor those who have served in all branches of the military with a live Veterans Day broadcast of "America's Veterans: A Musical Tribute." The one-hour program will feature musical performances and short vignettes highlighting members who currently serve. The special will repeat on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m.

This year's performers include "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard, who became known as "The Velvet Teddy Bear" during his run on season 2003 of the award-winning show. World-renowned tenor, Anthony Kearns, the original founding member of the singing sensation, The Irish Tenors, will also be featured. The Irish Tenors are considered one of PBS' most successful entertainment acts to date.

Mr. Kearns said: "I'm honored to sing with the Air Force Band as part of an inspiring tribute to America's military veterans, who gave much to protect freedom throughout the world. I hope people tune in for what will be a magnificent concert for Veterans Day." Like Studdard, Kearns first rose to fame after winning the national singing competition, "Ireland's Search for a Tenor" in 1993 with his rendition of "The Impossible Dream."

The tribute, hosted by Washington's WRC-TV news anchor Aaron Gilchrist, will feature a mixture of classic patriotic favorites from The United States Air Force Concert Band and the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force, the Singing Sergeants. All of the artists will perform in front of an audience in MPT's Owings Mills studios.

This year's honorees are:
Staff Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester, U.S. Army
HM2 Luis Fonseca, U.S. Navy
Col. Anthony Henderson,U.S. Marine Corps
Lt. Aaron Renschler, U.S. Coast Guard
Tech. Sgt. Robert Gutierrez, U.S.Air Force

"America's Veterans" has become a perennial favorite on public television. The United States Air Force Band is proud to honor all those who have served in our nation's military.

The appearance was organized by Kirsten Fedewa & Assoc.,LLC (on behalf of Mr. Kearns).
