Composer Joseph P. Freije Releases New LP Album "Phrygian Piano And Sound Spiral Part II"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The composer of "pure sound" known as Joseph P. Freije has released his newest LP record, titled, "Phrygian Piano and Sound Spiral Part II." It is comprised of four original tracks in approximately 50 minutes playing time, making for a fairly comprehensive album, even for an LP. Its overall tone is extremely atmospheric, ambient, and pleasing to the ear, and can be played under any circumstances without seeming out of place or at odds. Freije's album is composed for the keyboard and utilizes effects that add alien, colorful textures without ever obstructing the natural voices of the piano. This having been said, Freije's "Phrygian Piano and Sound Spiral Part II" is a work of art that can not be described in terms typically appended to music, which is consistent with the musical philosophies of its composer.

"Pure Sound," writes Freije, "is a higher form of communication than words. Words attempt to (or do) divide, label and categorize humans into groups for exploitation." Freije's music offers an alternative mode of communication, through which he teaches by example. "The potential for better things is unlimited," he says, adding, "[but] so is the effort to control the potential of some who offer perspectives that would release that potential."

Freije's perspective is one that deserves much attention, in fact, and not merely for his music. His music is a reflection of his strong intellect and personality, both of which have produced a remarkable personal history. He has traveled abroad, hitchhiked across the US on $60, completed over 160 scuba dives, run 20 miles in a little over two hours, written a markedly significant psychological study, been a motorcycle enthusiast, been a firearms expert, been married for 30 years, and designed his own home and private nature reserve. These things are not sufficient to paint a complete picture of Joseph Freije, composer, but they are a start.

It is perhaps best that the music fan listen to his record firsthand in order for a rounder image - particularly because the man, himself, is not the thing. "Phrygian Piano and Sound Spiral Part II" is a work of indescribable beauty and complexity that no listener ought to miss in lieu of the same old and tired verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-verse-chorus music album. There's certainly nothing wrong with the formula, but Freije is here to point out that it isn't all there is to music listening. His album stands as a suggestion: consider "Pure Sound."

"Phrygian Piano and Sound Spiral Part II" by Joseph P. Freije is available online worldwide beginning March 1, 2013.
