Os Mutantes Releases New Album 'Fool Metal Jacket,' Out April 30, 2013
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Workman Entertainment) Krian Music Group, a full service independent record label, is pleased to announce the signing of Brazilian psychedelic rock band Os Mutantes. Their new album, Fool Metal Jack, is slated for release on April 30.

For the past three years, Os Mutantes have been signed with top independent publishing company, The Royalty Network. Krian Music Group, launched by Royalty Network Founder Frank Liwall in 2011, is eager to release the new and highly anticipated album from the much loved, ethereal absurdist pop music group.
"The best situation for a flower to grow, or a seed to develop, is the right climate and soil, the same goes for an artist. We have the need to feel welcomed, trusted, and supported," stated Sergio Dias of Os Mutantes. "The best aspect of Os Mutantes signing with Krian Music Group for the release of our new album is the people surrounding us. The ethical music respect and the profound feeling of being part of something; a movement, a "tour de force" a family..."

"In Krian Music we could find all of this and more," continued Dias. "We are certain that this is the company that will reveal, before anything, art and music. It's an honor for us to be at home ... and we found that home in the USA and the world."

Os Mutantes, individually known in their latest form as Sergio Dias (lead vocal and guitar), Vinicius Junqueira (bass)/ Esmeria Bulgari (vocal /percussion)/ Amy Crawford (keys/ vocals), Ani Cordero (drums and vocals), once again take on their unique and otherworldly sound and topical cultural irony for their latest effort. These eclectic musicians who have never shied away from experimentation on previous albums, including 2000's Technicolor (originally recorded in 1970) and 2009's Haih Or Amortecedor, continue to push the boundaries that have helped maintain their relevancy and intrigue throughout their career. Over the years, the band has received accolades from noted musicians such as Kurt Cobain, David Byrne, Beck, Flaming Lips, Devendra Banhart and of Montreal.

On Fool Metal Jacket, the band explores an assortment of instrumentation including distorted metallic guitars, blaring brass horns, tinkering piano melodies, and heart thumping drums which results in their infamous genre bending music.

With the title track featuring sickly sounding vocals and bizarre coughs over a syncopated drum track and a heavy bass line, Os Mutantes pushes the envelope, introducing new and old fans to their version of modern day progressive rock. "Look Out," a more up-tempo track, promises a lively rock performance with a fast and urgent melody of crashing cymbals and electric guitars.

"When Sergio offered us the opportunity to get involved with a new Os Mutantes album, it was an absolute thrill, particularly after having seen one of their non-stop action live shows a few days prior," remarked Frank Liwall, Krian Music Group President and Founder. "The Os Mutantes sound is and will always be a unique, masterful, and whimsical journey for all."

Os Mutantes hits the road this spring in support of the new album with label mates, Capsula, whose debut album, In The Land of Silver Souls, was released on Krian Music Group in 2011.
