The Latin Recording Academy Statement re: Dominguinhos
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ The Recording Academy) "Two-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Dominguinhos was one of Brazil's most treasured icons. An accordionist, singer, composer, and protégé to Luiz Gonzaga, he was revered as a great national influence to artists such as Chico Buarque de Hollanda, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, Elba Ramalho, and Toquinho, among others. His musical genius, humble character and generosity will live on through his enduring contributions, and we mourn his loss along with our Brazilian musical family. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues and fans everywhere."

Gabriel Abaroa Jr.
President/CEO
The Latin Recording Academy
