'Love To Love You Donna' Out Tuesday, October 22 On Verve Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA celebrates the music of singer/songwriter/pop culture icon and 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee DONNA SUMMER via a series of remixes celebrating her life and voice . Highlights from LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA -due out Tuesday, October 22 on Verve Records -include the legendary producer Giorgio Moroder's entirely re-imagined version of "Love to Love You Baby," originally recorded in November of 1975, Afrojack's take on "I Feel Love," indie electro artists Hot Chip's interpretation of "Sunset People," Chromeo & Oliver's remix of "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" and "La Dolce Vita," a brand new track with Giorgio Moroder co-written by Nathan DiGesare.

Here's some input from the contributors of LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA:
Giorgio Moroder- the key player in SUMMER 's rise to fame in the '70s-says "I love it, I love it, I love it. I love to love it!" of LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA . The German electronic legend who helped SUMMER craft her biggest hits including " Love To Love You Baby " and " I Feel Love ," most recently joined Daft Punk in the studio and teaming with remixer Chris Cox to update " Love to Love You Baby " for modern dance floors.

SUMMER 's husband Bruce Sudano gave this overview of "La Dolce Vita" which features Nathan DiGesare 's production on the vocals: "The song began a few years ago in Nashville with Nathan (DiGesare) and then I tweaked over time when we went back to Nashville to visit. I wanted a new song on the CD, but couldn't get approval of the demo until Giorgio came on and reworked the track and added his touch. The vocal we used is actually one from early on in the writing process."

Chicago dance-music originator Frankie Knuckles and Def Mix Productions co-founder Eric Kupper (Director's Cut) who helped define New York house music over the past three decades, took time out to honor SUMMER by imparting their smooth dance aesthetic to her fiery anthem " Hot Stuff ." "It was an honor and a pleasure to work on a remix for such a seminal piece of music; a true piece of history," says Eric Kupper. "Our rendition came together almost magically…we really wanted to bring out the soulfulness of Donna's beautiful voice." Frankie Knuckles adds: "I can say my production career has come almost full-circle being involved with this Donna Summer Project. Like so many people I, too, hold a special place in my heart for the Queen. It's a real honor to be associated. This remix of 'Hot Stuff' is perhaps the most exciting remix program I've been involved with since Michael Jackson's 'Rock With You'; an iconic tune by one of the great legends of American Pop Music."

U.K. outfit Hot Chip - who is Alexis Taylor , Joe Goddard and Al Taylor- took on" Sunset People ." Goddard says of the dub mix: "I enjoyed working on it more than pretty much any other remix I've done," says Joe Goddard. "The combination of Moroder and Summer was pretty perfect."

Here's some initial critical feedback on LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA:

"Proof that Donna Summers legacy will live on, several master DJs and artists like Hot Chip and Holy Ghost! have teamed up to remix the singer's classic hits…"- Robbie Daw, IDOLATOR (9-30-13)

"…a host of dance-music luminaries…remixing those classic Summer tracks. Chromeo & Oliver, Holy Ghost!, and Moroder himself are among the contributors…Hot Chip gave Summer's incandescent 1979 single 'Sunset People'…a deeper, more relaxed groove." - Tom Breihan, STEREOGUM (9-12-13)

"…dance music is having quite the mainstream moment…[a] benefit of the genre's resurgence is that some of its earliest champions are getting their long-overdue place in the spotlight. Perhaps none more so than Donna Summer…Add it to your playlist now!" - Dan Hyman, ELLE (10-1-13)

DONNA SUMMER rocketed to international superstardom in the mid-1970s, when her groundbreaking merger of R&B, soul, pop, funk, rock, disco and avant-garde electronica catapulted underground dance music out of the clubs of Europe to the pinnacle of sales and radio charts around the world. About DONNA SUMMER:
Maintaining an unbroken string of hits throughout the 70s and 80s, most of which she wrote, Donna Summer (1948-2012) holds the record for most consecutive double albums to hit #1 on the Billboard charts (three) and is the first woman to have four #1 singles in a twelve-month period, three as a solo artist and one as a duo with Barbra Streisand.
A five-time Grammy Award-winner, she was the first artist to win the Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female (1979, "Hot Stuff"), as well as the first-ever recipient of the Grammy for Best Dance Recording (1997, "Carry On"). She held six American Music Awards, three consecutive #1 platinum double albums (she's the only artist, male or female, ever to accomplish this), 11 gold albums, four #1 singles, 2 platinum singles, and 12 gold singles. Donna was also the first female artist to have a #1 single and #1 album on the Billboard charts simultaneously ("MacArthur Park" and Live & More , 1978), a feat she also repeated six months later ("Hot Stuff" and Bad Girls , 1979). She has charted 21 #1 hits on the Billboard Disco/Dance charts over a period of 25 years, a milestone solidifying her as THE Queen of Dance.
In 2004, she became one of the first inductees, as both an Artist Inductee and a Record Inductee (for 1977′s "I Feel Love") into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in New York City.
In 2013, Donna Summer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It is estimated that Ms. Summer has sold more than 130 million records worldwide.
