Birdy Set To Fly On Upcoming North American Tour; "Breathe" EP Highlighted By First Single/Video "Skinny Love"

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) Atlantic recording artist Birdy has announced plans for a major North American tour. The acclaimed British singer/songwriter will accompany fellow Atlantic recording artist Christina Perri as special guest on her upcoming live schedule, slated to get underway April 4th at Denver's Ogden Theater and then continue through late May (see below itinerary). For up-to-the-minute details, please visit officialbirdy.com/live.htm .

Birdy - who has just earned a BRIT Awards 2014 nomination in the "British Female Solo Artist" category - recently released her US debut EP, "BREATHE." In addition to new songs such as "Wings," the EP includes her worldwide hit rendition of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," which topped charts around the planet upon its initial arrival last year. A stunning new companion video for "Skinny Love" - directed by Sophie Muller (Rihanna, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey) - can be seen here:

The "BREATHE" EP heralds the US release of Birdy's hugely anticipated sophomore album, "FIRE WITHIN." The collection sees Birdy furthering her distinctive songwriting in collaboration with some of today's most talented studio superstars, including Rich Costey (Foster The People, Muse), Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic, Adele, One Direction) Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele), Dan Wilson (Taylor Swift, Pink, Adele), Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Chari XCX), and Mumford & Sons' own Ben Lovett. "FIRE WITHIN" will arrive on these shores later this year.

A remarkably powerful and charismatic live performer, Birdy will perform "Skinny Love" on NBC's TODAY , set to air January 24th. She will also appear on Queen Latifah's nationally syndicated daytime show this Spring.

Known to friends and family as Jasmine van den Bogaerde, Birdy has been widely acclaimed as one the most gifted young singer/songwriters in modern pop. The 17-year-old artist proved an international sensation from the start as her eponymous 2011 debut album made a top 20 debut in her native UK while shooting straight to #1 in Australia, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Singles such as "People Help The People," "Shelter," and "1901" were equally successful, scoring gold and platinum certifications in such countries as the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Australia (where "Skinny Love" was a chart-topping, 5x-platinum certified sensation).

As if that weren't enough, Birdy's songs have also been highlighted in a number of high profile film blockbusters, including "Just A Game" (found on 2012's #1 smash, "THE HUNGER GAMES: SONGS FROM DISTRICT 12 AND BEYOND") and "Learn Me Right," the GRAMMY®-nominated collaboration with Mumford & Sons featured on Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios' Brave .
