Sharon Isbin Tours Guitar Passions To 18 Cities
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Grammy-winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin is teaming up with jazz guitar greats Stanley Jordan and Brazil's Romero Lubambo for an 18-city GUITAR PASSIONS tour, which kicks off Jan. 30 at the Center for the Arts in Buffalo, N.Y., and runs through Feb. 27, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Key tour stops include the Lehman Center in New York City (Feb. 9), The Music Center at Strathmore in Washington DC (Feb. 13), the Music Hall in Detroit (Feb. 18), Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis (Feb. 19 and 20), Valley Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, Calif. (Feb. 23), and San Francisco (Feb 25). For details and cities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Georgia, Virginia and New Hampshire, see: https://www.sharonisbin.com/tour.html

The tour takes its name from Isbin's 2011 album SHARON ISBIN & FRIENDS: GUITAR PASSIONS, which showcased her duets with friends including Jordan and Lubambo. The concerts will mix acoustic and electric guitars and feature music from Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Venezuela, as well as works by Jordan and Lubambo.

"It's really thrilling to see people from different genres come together and create an entirely new voice, and a new concept, and a new style of playing," says Isbin. "I'm looking forward to sharing the exciting alchemy of sounds and styles with Stanley and Romero in this tour and to ignite guitar passions across the country!"

Meanwhile, Isbin, who has recorded over 25 albums ranging from Baroque and Spanish/Latin music to crossover and jazz fusion, is the subject of a one-hour documentary, SHARON ISBIN: TROUBADOUR, which will debut later this year. Screenings include a New York City premiere April 10 at Lincoln Center's Bruno Walter Auditorium.
