LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Earshot Media) LA based indie artist Clockwise (aka Australian transplant Andy Clockwise) has begun a 4 week long residency at Hollywood's Sayers Club. The series of gigs kicked off last week with a sold out crowd and continues through April, with shows on April 10, 17 and 24.
Clockwise's recent song "Murphys Law" may be familiar to some after garnering traction at specialty radio in LA (including spins on KCRW and KROQ's Locals Only) while also landing on Fox Television's Super Bowl Pre Show, a recent NASCAR telecast and in the documentary "Pump", directed by Sundance Award winning
Director Josh Tickell.
Clockwise is gearing up for the release of the upcoming Dancing World EP this summer by releasing a covers EP titled "Gower Street", that will be offered as a free download with pre-orders of Dancing World on Monday, April 14th
The Covers EP features Clockwise's take on a seemingly incongruous selection of songs from the likes of Pete Townshend ("Let My Love Open The Door") The Go-Betweens ("Streets Of Your Town), The Real McCoy ("Another Night"), which features guest vocals from
Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint,
Gloria Gaynor ("
I Will Survive") and Nu Shooz ("
I Can't Wait").

WHO IS CLOCKWISE?
Australian import Andy Clockwise is one of the brightest talents in music today. With a sound that might be described as "LCD Soundsystem meets Nick Cave" (a sound he coined as "Schizo Pop"), Clockwise has already established himself as the must‐see live act in Los Angeles. He maintains a reputation as an artistic wunderkind of a new generation of independent musicians. Within two years of moving to LA, he sold out his Spaceland residency in its entirety, as well as the Troubadour, the Echoplex, and Hotel Café. His legendary stage shows and the critically acclaimed albums Classic FM, War Stories and The Socialite have fostered a nearly fanatical fan base. He is currently gearing up for the release of his latest EP Dancing World in the late spring of 2014.
Clockwise's first taste of success came in Australia with his debut double‐album Classic FM, released through Universal in 2006. Critics called the album "thrilling", "ambitious," and "unpredictable." Its success eventually landed him sold out headlining tours across Australia, as well as support slots with INXS, The
Black Keys, Wolfmother, The Wailers, and Hugh Cornwell of The Stranglers.
After relocating to Los Angeles, Clockwise quickly became immersed in the eclectic music scene. His success Down Under translated in the United States almost immediately. In 2011 his Are You Well? EP and The Socialite peaked at number 6 on the FMQB specialty charts and was a favorite among college and AAA radio stations across the country. All of this exposure led to an opening slot for The Strokes' front man Julian Casablancas on his first solo tour.
In support of The Socialite, Clockwise embarked on his first US tour, hitting both coasts and several festivals including his third stint at SXSW. The critical acclaim continued with the release of War Stories. In November of 2012, legendary Los Angeles radio station KROQ teamed up with Andy for an exclusive premiere of his new music video for "Steam Dream", which was directed by the acclaimed Ben Fee
(The Lumineers, "
Ho Hey").
Since then, he has embarked on numerous projects as a performer, musician, and producer. In 2013 the single "Murphy's Law" leaked, leading to tour dates with Warpaint and The Addicts, and syncs with Fox for the Super Bowl Pre‐Show and NASCAR, and various independent films. In 2014, Clockwise traveled to Mexico to perform at Hotel Ganzo in Los Cabos.
This month, Clockwise is holding down a highly buzzed about residency at The Sayers Club in Hollywood to support the upcoming EP Dancing World. This, like all of his records, was performed, recorded, produced, and mixed by Clockwise himself. The record is his the first of a two‐part
"ode to conflict, both internal and external. But it also sounds pretty good." The
first single, along with a video directed by Myles Lumb, will be released in late spring.
