New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Annan, Scotland-based rock band 13 CROWES are proud to unveil their dramatic new single 'Lady Luck' released today on German independent label Homebound Records and available on all the usual digital platforms.
To celebrate the release the band have unveiled a new music video and an extensive run of tour dates and festivals in Germany and the Czech Republic throughout May and June.
Commenting on the song, front man Cammy
Black said: "I wrote the lyrics for Lady Luck late one night whilst listening to the
Tom Waits song 'Ol' 55', it's one of those songs that seems even more cinematic and vibrant when you listen to it at night.'
"I was living on a little close tucked away from the main street in Annan between two busy pubs at the time. There's references in there to that and everything that was going on around me - all the aggro and chaos of a Saturday night. I was always in the thick of it, whether I liked it or not!"
Recorded at Circa 16 Studio in Dumfries, the band recruited veteran producer Dave Miller to work on the track, a producer they are very familiar with having taken the controls for previous releases 'Young Poets' and 'The Dividing Line'.
"Dave knows us well and shares our work ethic, and we like to keep things local wherever we can. You need to find the right people to work with and keep your circle tight, besides, we don't like the big cities anyway, it's like the wild west around here and we're frowned upon there!" explains Cammy.
Work ethic is something 13 Crowes pride themselves on. All self proclaimed 'grafters', frontman Cammy himself leads a particularly busy life, filling his time with not only music but also his second love - amateur boxing.
"I'm in the gym at 5am every morning, then I go lay bricks all day and head back to the gym again in the evening. I had my first fight last year which I won with a first round stoppage, within 18 seconds of the first round. It's a great confidence builder, and it's a surprisingly cathartic sport. I really can't recommend it enough".
Having toured extensively throughout the UK,
Europe as well as a smattering of shows in North
America already, 13 Crowes plan to keep up the pace in 2018 and are set to return to Germany for a run of 10 shows this summer, details of which can be found below.
