NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Green Light Go PR) Argyle Johansen will release his inner demons at The Lily Pad September 9th, literally. Songwriter John Wentz and his band's upcoming EP, Argyle Johansen and his Inner Demo(n)s, will drop on September 6th. The show at The Lily Pad will be celebrating the collection of life's experiences rendered with clever, sometimes tongue-twisting lyrics, well-chosen and sometimes surprising instrumentation and a voice that is equally proficient at humor as it is heartfelt emotion. The Deli put it best when they said of the EP, "Argyle's composition on each track is alluring, paying painstaking detail to each unique instrumental piece. Lyrically, each song paints a story more vivid than most artists in the genre."

"Argyle Johansen sounds like Simon beating up Garfunkel or maybe if Bob Dylan and the Old Dirty Bastard were Siamese twins attached at the vocal chords." Songwriter, John Wentz's description of his band's sound as well as the origin of its name, "A figment of my imagination and would be the name of the main protagonist if I were to ever write an epic romantic novel like Les Miserables" give the perfect impression of what to expect from his songs. They are fanciful, filled with witty and funny wordplay, but ultimately grounded in reality. The EP deals with everything from the earth-shattering to mundane and serves it up as song. Waiting in the emergency room at St. Vincent's Hospital to get stitches on a beautiful spring day, not getting enough sleep, or getting too high before having to go to work are all treated equally.

Argyle Johansen's self-titled album broke into CMJ's Top 200 and hit Top 30 charts in college radio in 2009. "Sunny Day in Hell," a track from the first album was featured in the first season of Showtime's Californication.
