Coral Gables, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Powerline Records) - Celebrating the release of his debut 'Tortured Mind' on upstart local label Powerline Records, home town hero Mack Preston takes to the stage with a special concert Friday, April 24, 11 p.m. at Tobacco Road (626 South Miami Ave., Miami, FL 33130 305.374.1198.) The release is the second from the label, following A Dream of Reality's 'It's Nothing Personal,' as part of a new deal with Select-O-Hits.

Locals may know Mack but not recognize him. In his day job as an undercover detective, Preston became a local legend by breaking up one of Florida's most murderous drug rings. Now nearing a much-deserved retirement, Preston (not his real name, for obvious reasons) is spreading the word about his arresting new debut as a recording artist.

Born in Pittsburgh and currently living in the Miami area, Preston is one of the few artists who has been able to successfully take modern rock and blend it with a classic feel. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this unique artist has spent most of his life perfecting his vocal skills. Starting out as a background singer for local bands introduced his voice to audiences throughout the state. His distinctive look and his powerful voice became the catalyst to making bands and audiences long to hear him as a lead singer.

Growing up his older brothers exposed him to such rock pioneers as Rush, Boston and Led Zeppelin. This helped influence his style and also inspired him to learn to play drums. Mack fast became an accomplished drummer. His looks, voice and now skills on the drums made him a triple threat. This further secured him as a dominant presence on the local music scene.

Eventually, Mack's musical journey took him to Florida where he could be found in some of Miami's hottest recording studios. After accomplishing a multitude of musical goals there, he decided to come to Los Angeles and dedicate himself to his debut album, 'Tortured Mind.' Mack is a passionate artist. His well-crafted lyrics explore the mind, soul and spirit with an edge only rock can give.
