Rumford, RI (Top40 Charts/ Chauffeur Records) Nashville's Red Carpet Rats have hit the Virgin Islands with the intensity of a category five hurricane! During the first three weeks of their 50 date, three month island tour, the band has created a wave of media interest, hit the top ten on local radio and filmed three episodes of their upcoming docu-series, "Rockin' the Islands," The band kicked off their "Rockin' the Islands" Virgin Island Tour on New Year's Eve, and performed non-stop in the US Virgin Islands during the entire month of January. They are spending February in the British Virgin Islands and returning to the USVI in March. In addition to their rigorous concert schedule, the band has been actively filming their new series, "Rockin' the Islands." The show will be highlighting many of the attractions and amenities unique to the islands.

Like a rock and roll hurricane, the band has created a media frenzy in the islands garnering news coverage, front page spreads, and even hitting the top ten on the local rock station. Buzz 104 named the Rats the "Catch of the Day" and featured them on their morning talk show. Hitz96 and ZROD in the BVI also hosted the band during morning drive time. Limin' Times Magazine proudly displayed the band on the cover of their latest issue and the Virgin Islands Daily News and BVI Music also gave Red Carpet Rats front page coverage.

The band's single, "Going To Hell" shot up the charts of the islands' premier rock station, Buzz 104 and is on it's way to hitting the station's top spot.

"It is always a pleasure to work with talented musicians with a genuine love for every aspect of their craft," commented Alan Friedman, General Manager at the Buzz in a personal letter to the band. "Performing on stage is definitely your passion," he continued, "but your sense of responsibility toward promoting each show to the best of your abilities and your authentic humility has not gone unnoticed. I personally wish you continued success, on behalf of this station, and look forward to working with you again in the future. Keep up the good work and don't stop rockin'!"

In March the band will wind down this whirlwind trip with an additional ten dates, an appearance in the St. Croix St. Patrick's Day Parade and a spot on CBS TV2.

About Red Carpet Rats:

Red Carpet Rats has proven that their sound has no boundaries, with two new singles on two different radio formats. "Photographic Memory" is heating up the airwaves of pop and alternative stations and "Going To Hell," with its harder, darker edge, has caught fire on rock stations across the country, having been featured in both an ESPN segment and an independent film. RCR has also crossed-over into the Latin market, leading to a performance of their tequila-fueled anthem "The Gulp of Mexico" on Telemundo's Spanish TV.

Not stopping with the music, Red Carpet Rats works diligently to give back to the community by serving as official "spokesband" for the Tennessee chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America , performing at children's hospitals for Musicians On Call, and the band will participate in a Habitat for Humanity building project while on island.
