Minneapolis MN. (Top40 Charts/ Omnium Records) - Long pioneers in bringing folk music kicking and screaming to rock audiences (and rock music to screaming folk audiences), the classic Boiled in Lead lineup returns with a new CD, Silver, that transcends the band's long history.

From their first gig in 1983 at the now-demolished Upper Deck in Minneapolis, BiL cut their own swath through the Irish tradition, forging a template distinct from The Pogues' pub-punk. The band always brought the dark events of traditional songs to light, alongside powerful instrumentals that merge noise and finesse. Silver documents the return of original lead singer Todd Menton and the addition of guitarist Dean Magraw. Released on the Omnium label, the CD is available March 25th, and on the iTunes Music Store March 1st.

The celebration begins Monday March 17th with an annual St Patricks Day Concert at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. Special guests include Minnesota Police Pipe Band, Lehto & Wright, The Wild Colonial Bhoys, Brass Messengers, The Sweet Colleens, and Mark Stillman. Doors open at 4pm, with free admission from 4pm-7pm. Two acoustic concerts in Minnesota & Wisconsin are also scheduled in March.
