New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The track comes following a week thats seen the UK exit Europe not just once in the EU referendum, but also crashing and burning in the Euro 2016 football tournament, with the Prime Minister stepping down, our major political parties in total chaos, Boris Johnson backing out of the race for Conservative Party leader, and UKIP MEP Nigel Farage - a man who actively despises the EU - given a platform to publically spit venom at the rest of Europe in the most delicate and potentially damaging period possible for future negotiations, before standing down from his position as leader.

Now more than ever, it feels like we need punk music. We need people coming together and making their voices heard. We need bands like Revenge of The Psychotronic Man.

A play on the title of an episode of BBC comedy series Alan Partridge, in which Alan, in a state of boredom, dismantles the Corby Trouser Press in his hotel room, the new track obviously also makes a nod towards the right wing media currently being hell-bent on degrading the policies and character of Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn to push its own agenda.

The lyrics are about a conversation Andy had with a Conservative voting student at the college he works at, comment the band This student was angry about how much he had to pay in tuition fees, despite voting for that policy by supporting the Tories. As a band we have always supported the idea that people should use their vote responsibly and should research what they are actually supporting by voting in a certain way, whilst if someone decides not to vote they should make their protest known through actions such as spoiling their slip.

The be careful what you wish for rhetoric discussed in the song is obviously very much on peoples minds this week, as is the idea that a politician having a 'big personality' seems to be more important to many than their actual politics.

The video directed by Tim Bevington and Scott Thompson and edited by Dan Meadows and Andi Taylor. For more political information visit www.voteforpolicies.org.uk or www.spoilyourvote.co.uk

The track is the latest to be taken from their third full-length album, the Alan Partridge homaging Colossal Velocity, which will be released via TNSrecords on 15th July 2016: https://www.tnsrecords.co.uk/
