Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Newman Du Wors LLP) Tony Fredianelli, co-founder, songwriter, and former lead guitarist of the alt rock band Third Eye Blind has filed a federal lawsuit against the band's lead singer seeking over $8 million in damages.

In the suit Fredianelli alleges lead singer Stephan Jenkins took money and assets belonging to the band and did not identify Fredianelli as the author on many songs he wrote for the band.

"Tony founded the band with Stephan Jenkins and co-wrote the hits that made Third Eye Blind famous," said Derek Newman, Fredianelli's attorney. "Tony believes he is entitled to his fair share of the success enjoyed by the band and the music he created."

Fredianelli left Third Eye Blind briefly in the late 1990s but returned to guide the band to new success while Jenkins pursued solo work. The complaint alleges in 2010, Jenkins froze out Fredianelli and took sole control of the band and its assets.

Without income from his band and his music, Fredianelli and his family have lost their savings and their home and are living with relatives.
