LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Adele wins Brit awards for best British female and best British album, while Ed Sheeran is named best British male and best breakthrough act. Coldplay take the best British group award, and Blur are recognised for their outstanding contribution to music.

The organisers and the host of the Brit Awards have issued an apology to Adele for cutting her speech short when she won the Mastercard British Album Of The Year gong at Tuesday night's ceremony in London.

ITV have apologised after Adele's acceptance speech for the ceremony's marquee British Album prize was cut short last night (February 21st). ITV Bosses and the BRIT Awards have apologised to Adele for cutting her acceptance speech short during last night's ceremony.
The London singer flipped the middle finger live on air after host James Coden ran onstage and interrupted her speech due to time constraints.

Speaking during the press conference after, she said: ''I was cut off during my speech but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support. I was held up with my voice and troubles but the album kept walking without me.

I flipped the bird for the suits at the BRITS who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.'

ITV have now released a statement:
"The Brits is a live event. Unfortunately the programme was over running and we had to move on.
We would like to apologise to Adele for the interruption."

A spokesman for the BRIT Awards also added: We regret this happened and we send our deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short this evening due to the live show over-running. We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning our night's biggest award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her.
