Drake's New Album 'Scorpion' Is The No 1 Album In The Country For The Second Week In A Row
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) For the second week in a row, Drake's new album "Scorpion" maintains its No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The new album saw about a 50 percent decrease in sales from week one to week two, but that was still good enough to move an additional 335,000 equivalent album units, with 29,000 being in traditional album sales, according to Nielsen Music.
Drake's second week at the peak marks only the fourth time in 2018 an album has spent multiple weeks at No. 1. Two of the other projects were hip-hop related in Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys and the Black Panther Soundtrack, curated by Kendrick Lamar. The second week tally is the biggest in over two calendars. Adele was the last artist to move more units in week No. 2, as her 25 album sold 1.1 million units in 2015.

In total, Drake now has 23 weeks on the top of the Billboard 200 chart. As far as hip-hop artists go, he is creeping up on Jay-Z (25) and has a little ways to go to surpass Eminem who sits at 32.

Future and Zaytoven's BEASTMODE 2 debuted at No. 3. The nine-track joint met projections, selling 57,000 album equivalent units. There were no pure album sales to boost the numbers since the project is only available for streaming, but it still became Future's ninth Top 10. The first-week result beats Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book for highest-charting streaming-only release.

Meek's four-song EP Legends of the Summer, which includes his single "Stay Woke" with Miguel, pushed 26,000 album equivalent units its first week with 6,000 in pure album sales, putting it in the No. 9 spot. This is Meek's fifth Top 10 effort, and his first since his prison release in April.
Both of these projects are teasers to full-blown albums fans hope will come out later this year. Future will be hitting the road with Nicki Minaj in late September for the NICKIHNDRXX World Tour.
