Broomfield, CO (Top40 Charts/ Lobeline Communications) The talent line up grows, as legendary pop superstar John Denver is inducted to theColorado Music Hall of Fame in a special benefit concert celebrating his music and life, hosted by Olivia Newton-John on Earth Day Eve, April 21, 2011 at 1STBANK Center.


Just added to the evening's tribute are Colorado notables: Michael Martin Murphey, whose classic No 1 hit single "Wildfire" propelled him into pop music history; Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Richie Furay, who is best known for forming the bands Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, & Dewey Martin, and then Poco with Jim Messina, Rusty Young; and also added to the line-up is singer - songwriter Jim Conner (famed for his New Kingston Trio hits "Tom Dooley" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?") and longtime friend and member of Denver's band.

Chuck Morris, President and CEO / AEG LIVE Rocky Mountains, remarked about his Murphey and Furay friendships, "Our community has been blessed by all of Richie's lifelong achievements; who for years has resided inBoulder." Adding, "And Michael wrote one of John's most beloved recordings, 'Boy From The Country,' and likewise has lived in Colorado for years; he has written many of his classics about this experience, such as 'Carolina In The Pines,' and 'Boy From The Country,' as well as 'Wildfire.'"


Notable John Denver hits will be performed by his former band collaborators Jim Connor, (writer of "Grandma's Feather Bed"), Bill Danoff of the Starland Vocal band (co-writer of "Take Me Home, Country Roads") and John Sommers (writer of "Thank God I'm A Country Boy").
Famed composer Lee Holdridge, who has conducted orchestras for John Denver, Barbra Streisand, and Neil Diamond, will lead the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra in a special tribute performance at the 6,500-capacity, state-of-the-art 1STBANK Center.
