Various scenes that feel all too real to a band that has been spending a year writing, producing and rehearsing their own music. LiveNation featured a stripped down, rooftop performance as part of their "Ones to Watch" series, check it out here.
The band has had a whirlwind summer, with sensational festival performances at Festival D'été in Quebec City and Cavendish Beach
Music Festival, supporting Shawn Mendes. Most recently, NEW CITY presented at the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVA weekend where they were nominated for "Best New Canadian Artist". The show included performances by Halsey, Alessia Cara,
Bebe Rexha and more.
Just last year, NEW CITY released their first-ever song, "
Coachella". The track has since amassed almost two million streams, with
Clash magazine declaring it a "perfect pop confection." The follow-up, deep house-inflected, gold certified, "Dirty Secrets," was the #1 Most Added single at Canadian Pop Radio. The song entered the Canadian radio chart at number 22, jumping seven spots in just two weeks and clearing four million streams, "With the irresistible pop sensibilities of New City," wrote Billboard, "they are a secret you'll want to share." In 2018, the band took home the Canadian
Radio Music Award for Best New Group or Solo Artist in two formats (CHR and Dance/Urban/Rhythmic).
NEW CITY's hybrid-pop sound borrowing from pop, rhythmic and EDM influences caught the attention of Grammy-winning multiplatinum super producer, Timbaland, and his manager Gary
Marella who inked the band to Mosley
Music Group imprint alongside Capitol Records stateside. "These guys are incredibly talented and have what it takes to be superstars," said Timbaland. Mosley
Music Group, founded in 2006 started with a simple mission in mind: work with great artists regardless of genre.

ABOUT NEW CITY:
NEW CITY - made up of Adrian Mitchell (vocals), Jed Webster (guitar, programming) and Nathan Brown (drums, programming) — are unapologetic about being young, free and in pursuit of a good time. Formed in 2017, out of two separate projects. Webster and Brown are lifelong friends who grew up together in the small farming community of Sussex, New Brunswick; Webster's dad fed him a steady diet of blues guitar heroes (Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Muddy Waters), while Brown was more focused on rock groups before discovering electronic music in high school. The pair took a big leap and moved to Toronto, sleeping on a basement floor for two years and working on music every day. They met R&B fan Mitchell, who was born in Oro-Medonte in central Ontario, trying to make it as a solo artist, at a hotel party and quickly joined forces.
