New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Gerardo Ortiz Official Website) - Gerardo Ortiz, the "Phenomenon of Regional Mexican Music," is ending his breakout 2010 with two grand nominations that reflect the attention and respect he's garnered from the music industry in a very short time. On Wednesday night, the 2011 GRAMMY nominations were announced on CBS, and the talented Gerardo Ortiz received his first-ever nomination. His production Ni Hoy Ni Mariana is up for Best Norterio Album.

The 53rd annual GRAMMYS will be awarded Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Los Angeles' Staples Center and broadcast by CBS. It's the music industry's biggest night - you can't miss it!

But there's more! The always-restless Gerardo Ortiz is also nominated in Univision's 2011 Premio Lo Nuestro. Celebrating the best in Spanish-language music, this long-standing awards ceremony has nominated the Regional Mexican Music Phenomenon for Best New Regional Mexican Artist- Soloist or Group.

On February 17, 2011, Premio Lo Nuestro will be awarded and telecast live on Univision.

With this news, Gerardo Ortiz adds two more resounding accomplishments to his bragging book...nominations in the GRAMMYS, which are the music world's most prestigious award, and Premio Lo Nuestro, the seminal Latin music award that's broadcast around the world.

Gerardo Ortiz continues his promotional activities for his new single "El Trokero Lokochon" (The Crazy Truck Driver), which has already accelerated to the top of U.S. Latin airplay charts.
