MIAMI (Top40 Charts/ Univision) - During its first-ever primetime nominations gala special, "Premio Lo Nuestro 2011: Gala de Nominados," the Univision network kicked-off the countdown to the upcoming "Premio Lo Nuestro 2011" Latin Music Awards. An array of stars were on hand to announce the full list of nominated artists for the upcoming awards gala, including Alejandro Sanz, Olga Tanon, Larry Hernandez, Pitbull, Diana Reyes, Luis Enrique, Dyland y Lenny, Lena, Jorge Villamizar, Tony Dize, Debi Nova, and Vadhir Derbez as well as Univision personalities Giselle Blondet, Rodner Figueroa, Chiquinquira Delgado, Jackie Guerrido, Karla Martinez, Satcha Pretto and Alejandra Espinoza. Guy Ecker and Blanca Soto, stars of Univision's primetime novela "Eva Luna," were also present. The special was hosted by network personalities Alfonso "Poncho" de Anda and Lourdes Stephen.

The highly anticipated awards show will be broadcast LIVE from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL on February 17, 2011, from 8-11pm ET/PT (7-10pm Central) on the Univision Network.

Now in its 23rd year, "Premio Lo Nuestro" honors finalists in 35 categories divided into the five most popular Latin music genres of pop, tropical, regional Mexican, rock and urban, along with "Video of the Year," "Entertainer of the Year," and "Collaboration of the Year" which includes nominations of artists from all genres. The "Premio Lo Nuestro 2011" nominees were eligible for the time period of October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010. The list of finalists is based according to data provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), the world's leading provider of airplay tracking for the entertainment industry.

The "Premio Lo Nuestro 2011" winners will be determined by popular vote. Voting starts today, December 2, 2010 at 11pm ET and continues through December 24th, 2010 at 11:59pm ET via www.UnivisionMusica.com.

Online and mobile coverage at www.UnivisionMusica.com will engage fans leading up to "Premio Lo Nuestro" awards show with online and mobile voting for their favorites artists to determine the winners. "Premio Lo Nuestro" online and mobile coverage also features nominee photo slideshows and the latest news, host bios, and the best red carpets and top 10 moments from previous shows, among other features.

The 2010 edition of "Premio Lo Nuestro a la Musica Latina" delivered impressive audience levels reaching 11.3 million viewers who watched some or all of the broadcast. It also delivered more Hispanic Adult 18-49 viewers than the combined audiences of the 2010 editions of the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and the American Music Awards.
