NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Manhattan Records) - As a young woman working with special needs children, Giorgia Fumanti loved to sing. Now, she is using her distinctive talent to bring her music to the world.

This Tuscan born soprano gracefully straddles the line between pop and classical, drawing comparisons in her operatic style to that of Andrea Bocelli and her spiritual-flair to that of Enya.

Fumanti recently toured with the great Jose Carreras. Performing together in Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Carreras was so enchanted after meeting Giorgia and hearing her remarkable voice that he immediately invited her to join him on his tour.

Now Giorgia's debut CD for Manhattan Records - "From My Heart" is being released on March 6th. The CD is a collection of romantic love songs in both English and Italian.

Each song was painstakingly chosen by Fumanti, who was accompanied on much of the CD by such prestigious ensembles as The Netherlands Media Orchestra and the English Chamber Choir.

A particular favorite of Fumanti is Italian film music master Ennio Morricone, who, like herself, draws from both pop and classical traditions. Fumanti includes four Morricone classics on the new CD, including themes from The Mission, Cinema Paradiso and Once Upon a Time in the West. Says Fumanti, "The most important thing in a song is whether it fills me with emotion. The music of Ennio Morricone does that like few others."

Fumanti also pays tribute to Sting, translating the lyrics of Sting's "Fields of Gold" for her stunning acoustic-flavored rendition of "Campi d'Oro." In addition, she salutes another of her heroes with her own interpretation of Barbra Streisand's "I've Dreamed of You." Spreading her impeccable classical wings on tracks like "Aria" (based on "The Swan" from Saint-Saens), she embraces broader influences with songs like "Espiritu," with its Enya-like choral backgrounds, and "Volero," another song featuring Giorgia's own translation into Italian lyrics.

To coincide with the release of From My Heart, PBS stations will air nationwide Heavenly Voices, a new HD-TV live concert event starring Giorgia and filmed at the historic Olympia Theater, Miami, Florida. The PBS concert release will begin airing starting March 1, 2007.
