Billy Ray Cyrus To Release New Patriotic Album I'm American On June 28, 2011
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Buena Vista Records) Billy Ray Cyrus, multi-platinum artist, returns to his patriotic roots with the June 28 release of his new album I'm American on Buena Vista Records. Cyrus' collection of songs dedicated to the spirit of being American features special guest appearances by Amy Grant and country artists (also veterans) Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan and Darryl Worley. Cyrus' single, "Runway Lights," will be shipped to Country radio later this month, and will be the theme song to his upcoming TLC "Surprise Homecoming" series that debuts on May 30, in which the artist will greet troops coming home from the war.

Inspired by a 2009 USO tour in which Cyrus performed for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, Cyrus has dedicated the album to a new generation of troops, while paying respect to all veterans past and present. The album will feature eight songs - "Runway Lights," "We Fought Hard," "Keep The Light On," "Stripes and Stars," "I'm American," "Nineteen" and "Old Army Hat." The album will also include a newly re-recorded version of "Some Gave All," the song and title of his debut album released in 1992, which was dedicated to the men and women of the U.S. military, and earned Cyrus the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Entertainers Award.

Cyrus has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and has had three No 1 hit singles. His 11 albums have generated 30 chart singles, including 15 Top 40 hits. The album Some Gave All has been certified 9x Platinum by the R.I.A.A., and set a record as the longest run by a debut artist in music history on the Billboard 200 for 17 consecutive weeks. Over the last decade he has starred in the PAX-TV series "Doc" and on the Disney Channel hit series "Hannah Montana."

His 2007 release Home At Last reached the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the Top Country Albums chart, while his singles "Busy Man" and "Ready, Set, Don't Go" - his duet with Miley Cyrus - both became smash country hits. In 2009, Cyrus released Back To Tennessee, in which the title track was featured in "Hannah Montana: The Movie" and was included on the film's soundtrack.

In addition to appearing in and co-producing "Hannah Montana: The Movie," Cyrus' film and television appearances include the Lifetime film "Flying By," Hallmark Channel's original movie "Christmas in Canaan," the Jackie Chan action-comedy "The Spy Next Door" and the critically acclaimed film "Mulholland Drive." He also starred in "Bait Shop" alongside Bill Engval. Cyrus has hosted country music's "Nashville Star" talent show and in 2007 was a semi-finalist on the ABC hit "Dancing With The Stars. "
