NEW YORK (Dixie Chicks Fans Website) - Judging from the fan and media response following their first U.S. concert of the year, the
Dixie Chicks are off to a strong start with their
Top of the World tour that kicked off
Thursday (May 1) in Greenville, S.C.
With only a handful of protesters showing up to express their opinions about Natalie Maines recent comment about President Bush, initial reports indicate the group may be moving past a controversy that resulted in radio stations banning their music and consumers destroying Dixie Chicks CDs and tapes.
The concert netted favorable coverage in several newspapers, including USA Today, the Los Angeles Times and the Greenville News.
The second concert of the tour takes place Saturday (May 3) in Orlando, Fla.
