Fourth Disc Of DOLLY Highlights Hollywood, Favorite Collaborations

Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - "What an excellent overview of Dolly Parton's career this four disc set is, featuring every important hit (as well as some that should have been) plus seven previously unreleased tracks." - Huffington Post.

The final disc of the 4-CD set DOLLY (out now, RCA/Legacy) documents Dolly Parton's 1980s Hollywood era, during which the singer broke into film as both an actress and soundtrack composer, and also showcases some of her best-loved collaborations and duets.

In 1983, Parton teamed up with Kenny Rogers for the Bee Gees-written "Islands in the Stream," which topped the Country, Adult Contemporary and Hot 100 charts and became an international hit.
Other collaborations heard on Disc Four include the duet "Rockin' Years" with Ricky Van Shelton; "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind," features pioneering fingerpicker Chet Atkins, the man responsible for signing her to RCA; and "Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That" and "Yellow Roses" from the Ricky Skaggs-produced album 'White Limozeen.'

- A chance airplane encounter with Jane Fonda opened the doors to Hollywood for Parton, who made her film debut in '9 to 5' alongside Fonda and Lily Tomlin in one of her most famous collaborations ever.
Dolly wrote the movie's Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning title track while on set, and '9 to 5' later became a Broadway musical hit with a full, Parton-composed score.
Parton's acting career flourished, as did her soundtrack work, following '9 to 5,' leading to roles in movies like 'Rhinestone' with Sly Stallone, for which she wrote the country chart-topping "Tennessee Homesick Blues" and the Top Ten "God Won't Get You," along with "What A Heartache."
