New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Rolling Stone Magazine credits legendary artist Tom Rush with "ushering in the singer-songwriter era." With his first full-length studio recording ('What I Know') in over thirty years set for release on February 24th by Appleseed Recordings, here are a few things you may not know about Tom Rush.

* During his tenure as an undergraduate at Harvard University, Rush began performing around Boston and was seminal in creating the folk rock scene there and in New York City in the early 60s.

* Rush was the first to perform and record some of the most famous songs of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Jackson Browne.

* Artists such as Garth Brooks and James Taylor cite Rush as one of their biggest musical influences. Taylor told Rolling Stone Magazine, "Tom was not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences."

* Numerous musicians including The Walker Brothers, Shirley Bassey, and Waylon Jennings have covered Rush's biggest hit "No Regrets."

* Rush participated in the legendary "Festival Express" train concert tour across Canada in 1970. Rush traveled across the country with some of the world's biggest bands including The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and The Band. Footage from the tour was released as a documentary film in 2003.

* For many years Rush continued to be instrumental in introducing up and coming folk acts through his Club 47 series. Established in 1982 as a setting to pair established artists and up and coming acts - past performers include Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, Mark O'Connor and Shawn Colvin.
Tom will be on the road supporting the release of 'What I Know.'
