Hayride Casualties Announce Fossil Fuel Kid
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New York City's indie rock-folk group Hayride Casualties is back - gearing up for the release of their next album Fossil Fuel Kid. Driven and defined by the political and ecological crises of our age, this band is standing up for the fight against against what many call the defining issue of our lifetimes: climate change.

Hayride Casualties pioneers the spirit of 60's protest music, blended with elements of indie rock, folk, bluegrass and underground rock for a melodious mix of heartfelt and change-inspiring music. Each song takes on it's own battle and story, circling back to the core themes of frustration, unease and worry for the world - along with the powerful call for action and change.

Started in 2013 by songwriter and activist Daniel DeWald, Hayride Casualties released a gritty, live EP and satirical folk single, A Hundred Thousand Dollars a Day back in 2014, before going underground for nearly three years to reimagine the band's sound. With nonchalant disregard for boundaries of genre and a wealth of inspiration, Hayride Casualties latest effort is not to be missed - the album soars seamlessly across a range of sounds, each song speaking to the heart and minds of its listeners.

The record features an impressive lineup including drummer Tim McCoy (Darwin Deez, formerly Savior Adore) and bassist Chris Bordeaux (formerly The Isles and Raheem). It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael Abiuso at Behind the Curtains Media.

Fossil Fuel Kid will be released on Friday, June 9 on all digital outlets. Hayride Casualties will celebrate the release on Sunday, June 11 at The Paper Box in Brooklyn, NY as part of a free Northside Festival showcase; details to come.

About Hayride Casualties:
Everyone would agree that we live in strange, uncertain times, yet too much of the music we listen to fails to reflect this sense back to us. Hayride Casualties is one band defined and driven by the political and ecological crises of our age. Their debut album Fossil Fuel Kid infuses the spirit of 60s protest music with the unprecedented content of modern times, cherrypicking vibes from indie, folk, bluegrass and vintage rock to forge a sound fitting for an important message. Hayride Casualties was started in 2013 by published songwriter, award-winning poet, former community organizer and political activist Daniel DeWald. The band performs in conventional music venues as well as environmental meetings, protests and fundraisers in the New York area.
