NASHVILLE, TN (Bna Records) - When the curtain dropped (and so did she) after her show Sunday night at the Wisconsin State Fair, Rachel Proctor could finally get some rest after a week of activities that launched her debut album, Where I Belong to Number Eight on Billboard's Country Album Chart.
"It was a week I'll never forget and I want to thank every one who came out to the in-store and shows," said Proctor in reference to the week which saw Rachel on both coasts and in-between. Some of the in-betweens included a performance in Bristow, VA after which superstar Kenny Chesney brought her onstage to sing "Cheeseburger In Paradise."

In Charleston, WV, a proud hometown crowd welcomed her with old photographs and videotapes of performances from her years of singing in talent shows and clubs. "It was a sweet-walk down memory lane looking at those photos but some of the hairdos I had I'm not sure were ever in style," she laughed.

Hometown performances included an acoustic set at the Wal-Mart parking lot and then signing autographs for more than 600 folks. An SRO crowd that evening at a local club forced the stage to be set up outside in parking lot to accommodate the mass of people.

When Rachel went to the Kroger where her dad works, an impromptu autograph session took place for the employees she used to work with. "Yea that was funny at the store, singing autographs outside the pharmacy where I worked when I was 17. My dad helped me get that job and I would always beg him to hire my boyfriends too," she said.

Rachel's favorite song on the album, the stunningly beautiful title track, "Where I Belong," is the next single and arrived at radio this week.
