Nashville, TN. (Big Machine Records)--Taylor Swift is holding down the #1 position atop both country radio and sales charts this week, with two different songs. "Should've Said No," the fifth single from her triple platinum-plus debut CD, leapt from #5 to #1 this week on both the Billboard Country Singles Chart and the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart. "Should've Said No" is Taylor's second number one that she wrote entirely on her own. Last year she made history when, at age 17, she became the youngest person to single-handedly write and sing a #1 country single. "Our Song" spent 6 weeks atop the country charts.

This week also finds Taylor with the top iTunes Country Single, with a song that was only available for download as of last Friday. "Change," a brand-new song that will appear on Taylor's sophomore CD FEARLESS, is currently the #1 country song downloaded from iTunes, and the #10 downloaded song over all genres. Taylor wrote the song about overcoming challenges and achieving and celebrating victory, and Team USA and NBC selected it to be one of a few songs used as the soundtrack for daily video highlights shown during NBC's broadcast of the 2008 Olympic Games. FEARLESS will be released on Big Machine Records on November 11th, with pre-sale starting August 22nd at www.thetaylornation.com.

Additionally, it was announced Friday night on FNMTV that Taylor is a nominee for a 2008 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. "I can't believe I get to go to the VMA's!!!" Taylor says of the nomination. "When I got the news about the nomination, I was on a plane. A very small plane. And I just started screaming bloody murder and everyone around me was a little freaked out, but it was worth it. I get to go to the VMA's...YES!!!" The 2008 VMA Awards will air live on MTV on Sunday, September 7th at 9:00 p.m. ET.
