JD Samson + Men Release New Next EP, Plus 3 More EPs To Come In 2012 + Tour Dates + Bust Magazine MP3
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) Brooklyn-based band/art/performance collective JD Samson + MEN release their new NextEP today, Tuesday February 21! Self-produced with help from Jordan Lieb, who also worked on the debut album Talk About Body, the Next EP is self-released via JD Samson + MEN's label MEN Make Music and made available via all digital platforms for their passionate following as soon as the track mastering was complete. You can for instance buy it oniTunes HERE and Amazon HERE. The 3-track EP is also available on tour as a 200 Limited Edition with handmade screen-printed sleeves.

This year, the band will release 4 EPs. The next JD Samson + MEN EP All the Way Thru will be released this Spring with production work from Alex Suarez from Cobra Starship, and subsequent EP releases produced by XXXChange (Spankrock, The Kills) andJD Samson + MEN themselves. These four EP releases are true to the unique, non-conformative and collaborative style of earlier MEN productions, such as the partnership for a tour only split 7" with Brazil's CSS, and "Who Am I to Feel So Free" feat Antony (from Antony & The Johnsons).

We can expect the band, now named JD Samson + MEN, instead of MEN for clarity and to emphasize the collaborative nature of the musical efforts on record and on stage, to continue their embrace and share collective spirit! The band has teamed up with their favorite magazine, Bust Magazine to share the first single "Next" for a week download. You can listen to it on the band's Soundcloud here: https://soundcloud.com/menmakemusic/next

This Next EP clearly aimed at mixing the dance floor antics with life's politics, as JD Samson + MEN usher in a brave selection that pushes the beats in a full on hands-in-the-air realm filled with shiny synth-pop riffs, all while discussing big life moments, topics and giving advice. It's best to load up the tracks, close your eyes and drift off dancing. The band enjoys changing the shape of the project and collaborating every tour with new instrumentalists and visual elements, for instance by bringing life-size cut out boards of their collaborators on stage to emphasize the power, energy and hope that their music brings to individuals and communities alike.

JD Samson + MEN - Next EP Track Listing:
01. Next
02. Make Him Pay
03. I Don't Care

JD Samson + MEN is LE TIGRE's JD Samson and Michael O'Neill with Johanna Fateman and artist Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants, and producers. Lee Free is the band's live drummer. Last year, Tami Hart joined the group for a period as the live bass player. The group began in 2007 with the DJ/production/remix team of LE TIGRE membersJD Samsonand Johanna Fateman. With LE TIGRE on hiatus, when the duo began to write new songs, it made sense to merge their efforts with JD's other project HIRSUTE (Michael O'Neill, JD Samson, Emily Roysdon and Ginger Brooks Takahashi).

"MEN's debut album Talk About Bodyhas been called everything from post-disco to post-gender... in any case it's a high-energy, club-ready weigh-in on not only queer-politics, but body politics in general."
—Under The Radar Magazine

"walking the knife edge of volatile politics and for-the-hips rhythms. "
—The Los Angeles Times
