New York, NY. (Blue Note Records) - Check out the full Gunther Schuller liner notes from Streams of Expression @ bluenote.com/streamsofexpression. Print the PDF. It is yours... free!

The first ever web video documenting the creation of a Jazz recording is Joe Lovano's Streams of Expression – A Video Scrapbook. Created by Bret Primack, the website, www.streamsofexpressionc.com, offers twelve short videos comprising over one hour of original content, that provide a comprehensive overview of the recording process.

Primack, who produces videos and websites for Joe Lovano, Sonny Rollins and Billy Taylor, captured Lovano's group at the Village Vanugard, in rehearsal, and recording at Avatar Studios last December. "I produced 12 brief films for the scrapbook," Primack explains, "so that web visitors could watch one film, and then return at their convenience to access more information about the recording, and some insight into the musicians who made it happen. For new listeners, this is a comprehensive introduction to Joe's music. For his fans, these videos serve as multimedia liner notes."

Streams of Expression – A Video Scrapbook is the first website exclusively devoted to using video to market a Jazz recording. Primack explains that "until very recently, this just wasn't possible because of the cost of producing video, and the limited number of broadcast outlets that would air any sort of Jazz programming. But with the advent of low cost digital video production, and the web as a distribution medium, it's now possible to create cost effective video that reaches millions of people."

Videos included in the scrapbook:
Streams of Expression – The EPK (3:23)
Joe Lovano's 18th Blue Note Recording features two suites played by his extended ensemble and this EPK tells the story of the music itself.

Birth of the Cool (9:06)
Gunther Schuller's suite augments a Jazz classic. During rehearsals, Lee Konitz, who played on the original sessions, along with Gunther, stops by.

The Real Joe Lovano (5:49)
A portrait of Joe Lovano through the eyes of his friends and bandmates including Steve Slagle, Gary Smulyan, Ralph Lalama, George Garzone, James Weidman and Gunther Schulller.

Streams - The Suite (6:19)
A original suite that encompasses Joe Lovano's multigenerational life in Jazz, this music is dedicated to the remarkable musical prophets whose influence on Joe is profound.

Buckeyes (4:22)
