New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Award-winning, recording artist Loretta Hummel releases her studio album, "Fresh Water."
Hummel, of Frostburg, Maryland, USA, wrote all but two of the songs for her twelfth album, which was recorded at the Gene Breedon Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Performers of the Nashville's Grand 'Ole Opry accompanied her during the recordings: Jamie Bowles on keyboards, John Heinrich on steel and dobro, Alvis Barnett on drums, Les Barnett on bass, Eugene Moles and
Craig Hutchins on guitar, Hyram Posey on fiddle, and Jamie Bowles and
Diane Berry provide the background vocals.
"I wish to thank God for the inspiration he gave me for the songs and music. All glory goes to him. Also, many thanks to all the awesome musicians, to Gene Breeden, who engineered the CD, and to Dan Duncan, who produced the CD."
Hummel's lyrics express the depth and richness found in life as her heartfelt songs are about local life, friends, love and Christian faith. She is well versed in Gospel hymns and other songs of religious praise.
Cuts from the album's ten tracks include, "My Old Violin", a tribute to family and friends who have a passion for the fiddle played in the slow Appalachian tradition. Hyram Posey, a two-time
National Fancy Fiddle Champion, plays the arrangement beautifully. The lyrics to "Ring Me Out", are inspired by an experience with Loretta's acquaintance,
Barbara Fairchild, during her performance at the
Barbara Fairchild's Diner and Stage in Branson, Missouri.
Hummel is an ordained music minister certified by Patriotic Bible University. Her recent release to the radio "I Pray for The Angels" was listed on the Cashbox top 100 charts.
Individual songs from the album may be played on her website at www.lorettahummel.com.
The album CD is available at Penn Alps in Grantsville, Maryland, or at Mountain City Traditional Arts in Frostburg, Maryland.
