Tower Of Power Founding Member, Grammy And Emmy Nominated East Bay Soul Band Leader Set To Perform At Gala To Benefit Mike Jones Kidney Foundation
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) We look forward to re-establishing Mike's love for jazz and his mission to educate everyone about kidney disease by creating the MJKF. Our Evening of Jazz will be great and we know Mike will be there with us in spirit. Greg Adams

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Mike Jones Kidney Foundation (MJKF) will hold an Evening of Jazz benefit featuring Tower of Power Founding Member, Grammy & Emmy nominated trumpeter Greg Adams and his band East Bay Soul. A secret guest artist is set to perform who will be announced at a later date. The event will be held at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA 90278 starting with a VIP reception, meet and greet at 5:00PM.

The MJKF is a 501(c)(3) organization created in the memory of Mike Jones, who was a kidney recipient and a community organ donor educator who passed away on March 7, 2013. He was an advocate of donor awareness where his mission was to help educate the public on how to give the "Gift of Life" for kidney, liver, bone marrow or blood transfusions while remaining healthy in the process. His work inspired churches, schools, and gave hope to kidney patients. He was blessed to receive a kidney after waiting five years.

"We look forward to re-establishing Mike's love for jazz and his mission to educate everyone about kidney disease by creating the MJKF", said Greg Adams, Grammy® and Emmy nominated trumpeter. "Our Evening of Jazz will be great and we know Mike will be there with us in spirit".

MJKF's mission is to grant financial assistance to kidney recipients, donors and families of hospitalized family members to cope with financial challenges on their medical journey, providing a safety net of critical assistance. Each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality.

The MJKF was founded by Jones' birth father Willie E. Williams - Charter Member of California Association of Independent Accountants, Andrea L. Adams - Music Management, Margaret D. Maier - Kidney Donor and Board Certified Medical / Surgical Nurse through the ANCC, The Honorable Lee W. Tsao - Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, and Greg Adams - Grammy® and Emmy nominated trumpeter and arranger.

The evening will feature a dinner prior to the concert along with chances to win several prizes available like a professional Jupiter Trumpet performed that evening by Greg Adams, a spa/golf package at a resort in Palm Springs, a Beverly Hills Salon package, tickets to several local events such as Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival, Disneyland/California Adventure and Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters and many more.
