NASHVILLE, TENN (AP) - You'll be seeing and hearing more of TBA Entertainment Corporation's (AMEX: TBA) award-winning and multi-platinum-selling artist management client Jaci Velsquez. While her dual career in both Latin and Christian music has achieved impressive success in both markets simultaneously, Velsquez was recently named as a spokesmodel for the Frizz-Ease brand of John Frieda hair care products.
John Frieda Professional Hair Care has mounted a nearly two million-dollar print and television advertising campaign featuring Velsquez. The campaign, which began in July, features Velsquez in magazines such as Latina and People en Espanol, as well as in Latin-based television commercials.
Additionally, Velsquez recently captured the No. 1 spots on both English and Latin radio charts with "Adore" and "Como se cura una herida," respectively. With "Como se cura una herida", her current single from her second Latin-album release, Mi Corazn, topping the Billboard Latin radio chart, Jaci's total of No. 1 radio hits rose to 16. With only six years in the industry and five previous albums to her credit, Velsquez has garnered two RIAA certified Platinum recordings, including her record-breaking debut, Heavenly Place, and has received an impressive seven Dove Awards and three GRAMMY award nominations to date.
Because of the success of her Spanish recordings, invitations have been streaming in for live concert appearances outside the US. This fall Velsquez will embark on a significant tour to Central and South America performing her Latin hits in countries such as Panama, Venezuela, Brazil and more. Upon returning from South America, Velsquez will continue touring in the US in support of her first holiday recording, Christmas, which will be released in both English and Spanish languages on Sept. 18.
