NEW YORK (www.singlebullettheory.net/ www.crashmusicinc.com) - A storm has emerged in the Philadelphia area. Not another in the devastating chain of hurricanes sweeping the East Coast, but a hailstorm of rampaging aggression and melody going by the name of SINGLE BULLET THEORY. Releasing their diverse, technically challenging sophomore effort Behind Eyes of Hatred through Crash Music (home to such acts as Flotsam & Jetsam, Mortician, Valume Nob - featuring Kirk Windstein of Down/Crowbar, and Pyrexia), the band has embarked on an odyssey of sonic fury and rampant passion.

Consisting of guitarist/vocalist Matt Difabio (formerly of Pissing Razors and Cipher), bassist Billy Mez (ex-Seven Witches), guitarist Carlos Alvarez (ex-Shadowdance), and drummer Jay Horvath, SINGLE BULLET THEORY is an anomaly in the Philadelphia music scene, which is primarily dominated by R&B and singer/songwriters. Difabio explains, 'Our main goal with this band, besides obviously to promote the album, is to get out there, do as much touring as possible, and make everyone aware that this style of music is available.'

The key to the band's singular brand of heavy music is in the diversity of elements structured into their sound. Difabio continues, 'I listen to such a broad range of heavy music that it naturally absorbs into whatever I write. It's aggressive and melodic simultaneously. It's a very heavy, brooding beast.'

It was this focus on non-pigeonholing into a specific genre that drew out the attention of renowned metal guitarist/producer James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament, etc.), who mixed their 2003 debut Route 666, but was on-hand during the entire production process of Behind Eyes of Hatred. He enthuses on the project, 'What I really like about the band is that they're utilizing a collection of styles: death metal, various forms of thrash, and power metal. They pull off this variety with such conviction and make it very convincing. I give the guys a lot of credit for their creativity and ingenuity on this record. I'm proud to have also contributed a couple solos to the record.'

In addition to contributions by Murphy, Behind Eyes of Hatred also features numerous drum tracks by King Diamond skinsman Matt Thompson, with whom the band toured throughout 2003. Recorded at Angry Chair Studios in Glenside, PA, the album sets a new standard for extreme, heavy music, which fans of everyone from Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and God Forbid will find quite alluring. The 11-track lesson in motivated vehemence bombards the listeners' senses in indiscriminate fury. The album also includes a faithful, yet severe cover version of the Metal Church classic 'Badlands'.

SINGLE BULLET THEORY, in their campaign of forward-thinking ambition, recently filmed a video in Ardmore & Lansdale, PA for the first single for Behind Eyes of Hatred, 'Hollowed Out', under the direction of Jay Bones (Overkill, Hades). They received previous video success with Route 666's 'Murder Machines' on MTV2's Headbangers Ball & Extreme Rock Show, as well as Fuse TV's Uranium programs.
A bonus DVD is included with Behind Eyes of Hatred, which includes interviews with the band, an extensive testimonial by James Murphy, the video for 'Murder Machines', exclusive live clips, and outrageous outtakes.

A successful touring machine, SINGLE BULLET THEORY has toured the US seven times within the past two years, sharing the stage with the likes of Killswitch Engage, Soilwork, Hypocrisy, Entombed, and the aforementioned King Diamond. With renewed vigor and a devastating new album, look for the band to continue the trend in the very near future.
